In theaters: "One for the Money"

Today marks the release of the feature film One for the Money, based on the incredibly popular Stephanie Plum mystery series, written by Janet Evanovich. The film stars Katherine Heigl as the gutsy and impulsive Stephanie Plum, who, out of work and out of money, turns to her bail bondsman cousin for help - and a job. Her first case: bringing in Joe Morelli (played by Jason O'Mara), a cop accused of murder and with whom Stephanie shares a romantic past.

One for the Money is the first in Evanovich's on-going series, currently up to eighteen with Explosive Eighteen. Stephanie Plum also appears in the Between the Numbers series - short novellas published between major installments in the series- Visions of Sugar Plums, Plum Lovin', Plum Lucky, and Plum Spooky.

Evanovich hasn't limited herself to Stephanie Plum's mysteries. Her latest novel, Love in a Nutshell,  co-authored with Dorien Kelly, adds romance to a suspenseful tale of Kate Appleton, wannabe bed & breakfast owner turned corporate spy. Evanovich has partnered with other writers for the earlier Max Holt romance series, which she wrote with Charlotte Hughes. Those aren't the only series Evanovich has written during her prolific career! For a full listing, click here.
