Movie: The Passenger

The PassengerTwo great filmmakers both died on July 30 this year, Ingmar Bergman of Sweden and Michelangelo Antonioni of Italy.

To celebrate both directors, we are showing Antonioni's 1975 drama The Passenger in the 3rd Floor Auditorium at Carnegie-Stout Public Library at 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 6. Admission and snacks are free, and discussion will be encouraged.

The Passenger stars Jack Nicholson as a burned-out reporter in Africa who assumes the identity of a dead stranger. This movie has been called the "crowning achievement" of the late Michaelangelo Antonioni, "one of the big screen's most visionary directors." It is 119 minutes long and is rated PG-13.
