Carnegie-Stout Public Library in Dubuque will show the movie This Film Is Not Yet Rated on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 6 p.m. in the Library's 3rd Floor Auditorium. Admission and snacks are free, and discussion will be encouraged.A satirical documentary by Kirby Dick, This Film Is Not Yet Rated (2006) investigates the secretive and inconsistent process by which the Motion Picture Association of America rates films. This documentary, initially rated NC-17 by MPAA, contains some graphic sexual content which may not be suitable for all viewers.
Carnegie-Stout Public Library is showing This Film Is Not Yet Rated in recognition of Banned Books Week, a nationwide campaign to promote freedom of expression. Sponsored by librarians, booksellers, publishers, and writers, Banned Books Week has been observed every year since 1982.
