I want to thank everyone who came to our first meeting of Graphic Content last night at Comic World. We had a great time talking our way through a thoroughly discussable book.If anyone was interested in the group and in getting a toe into comics but was put off by Watchmen's heavy duty superhero content I strongly recommend checking out next month's selection, Contract with God. It's a wholly different animal with no tights, capes, or mandatory comic book background reading. Instead it's got expressive art, relatable characters, and human pathos -- an excellent place to start one's relationship with graphic novels. Copies are available at the library now.
